The Baltimore Paint & Powder Club celebrates its 123rd anniversary year with a revue highlighting hits from the Paint & Powder shows from 1975 through 2015. These forty years provide a wealth of outstanding musical and comedy bits which will be featured in the 2016 show, Best of the Bits.
The 2016 show featured the men’s chorus singing an Irving Berlin musical medley from the 1990 show, Picture Perfect. A fast paced segment from the 1988 show, Circus Fun, The Clowns, featured all sorts of madcap clowns singing and dancing. The show also featured a simulated water ballet reminiscent of the Esther Williams’ MGM movie extravaganzas of the 1950s. The Broadway style production number from My Fair Lady was a crowd pleaser as was the novelty song-skit, If I Weren’t on the Opera Stage from the 1989 production Opera-Antics.
This fast paced, colorful, musical revue entertained and delighted everyone. The tribute to America finale stirred the hearts of the very appreciative audience of over 500 people, filling them with a bit of patriotism.
The show raised funds for the Susan Cohen Colo-rectal Foundation and the Linwood Center for children and adults living with autism.
